Key Ingredients
African marigold blossom extract (Tagetes Erecta) – African marigold flower extract (Tagetes Erecta) has been used for centuries. It is a proven natural supplement for supporting healthy vision. It contains high levels of the carotenoids lutein and zeaxanthin, two important antioxidants that are essential for eye health. These antioxidants can help protect the retina from oxidative stress caused by free radicals and blue light exposure.
Eyebright Herb Extract (Euphrasia) – Eyebright (Euphrasia officinalis) is another well-known nutrition supplement. It is a herb that commonly grows in Europe, Asia, and North America. Eyebright contains flavonoids, including luteolin and quercetin, which have antihistamine properties. The herb also provides a compound called aucubin, which has been shown to protect against oxidation. It has often been used to help relieve general eye irritation.
AstaReal® Astaxanthin – This special algae is harvested from non-GMO Haematococcus pluvialis freshwater microalgae, a sustainable vegetarian source. The original hand-selected wild cells are then optimised by breeding the best astaxanthin-producing wild cells. Astaxanthin promotes dynamic focus by helping hardworking ciliary – one of the main eye muscles, to perform better and recover faster from eye strain and eye fatigue.
Maqui Berry Extract – Extracts of the South American maqui berry have been found to support tear fluid secretion and enhance the actual function of the tear film. Maqui berry has been shown to be beneficial for dry eyes. The berry contains high levels of anthocyanins and polyphenols, powerful antioxidants that can help reduce inflamed eyes and increase tear production.
Vitamin C – From acerola, 17% extract. Vitamin C plays an important role in protecting against UV light damage. While the concentration of Vitamin C in the eyes lessens with age, diet and supplementation can compensate for this. Vitamin C also protects against oxidative stress damage. Vitamin C is NOT stored in the body so daily intake of Vitamin C is essential.
Blackcurrant Fruit Extract – The combination of Omega 3 and Omega 6 fatty acids in blackcurrant seed oil both help reduce dry eyes by supporting the body’s natural aqueous tear secretion.
Vitamin E (D-Alpha) – Our eyes can be especially susceptible to UV radiation from a variety of sources. Vitamin E can help neutralise the oxidation from normal UV exposure. The D Alpha form of Vitamin E has proven to be highly absorbable and stable in this application. Vitamin E is an important antioxidant that is proven to protect against oxidative stress.
Zinc (Citrate) – There are high levels of zinc concentrated in your retina, choroid and the macula. Zinc helps protect your eyes from UV radiation and blue light. Like Vitamin C, Zinc is not stored in the body and must come from food or a supplement.
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) – Plays a role in helping the retina receive light. Vitamin B2 helps the body create glutathione, a specific antioxidant that can help remove free radicals in the eye. A Vitamin B2 deficiency can result in light sensitivity and plays a contributing role in other vision problems.
Betacarotene – A precursor of Vitamin A, our betacarotene is derived from Dunaliella Salina, often referred to as pink algae. Betacarotene also helps reduce oxidative stress that different light sources put on our eyes.
Lycopene – Lycopene is a plant nutrient that gives fruits like tomatoes and grapefruit their colour. Lycopene is another important antioxidant that can help protect against oxidative stress on your eyes.
